50 tons of rock + 50 tons of sand + 380 bags of cement—mixed with shovels by 25 men and transported on wheel barrows = a lot of hard work, but the foundation is finished and ready for the pre-fabricated metal building. Pastor Jim Fryer, Shawn Griffin, Jim Mullins, and I worked from daylight until after dark each day to complete the foundation. We had hoped for a cement truck or a motorized mixer, but the Lord chose the course for us and we ended up mixing the whole 100+ tons by hand. This method gave opportunity for us to hire and make great relationships with the local villagers. Plus we were able to begin a witness among them. The villagers are primarily Muslim but they are glad we are there and say they look forward to what we have to teach. Please pray for the souls of these dear people.
We are seeking additional support for Pastor Joseph TOME so he and his family can move to Mondoukou where he will pastor the new church. We hope to begin Sunday services in the local elementary school until our facilities are completed.
Container Shipped to Abidjan
Answered Prayers: The 40’ container loaded with the pre-fab building and 1,000 hardback Bibles is on it’s way to Abidjan. We are relieved to have this window of opportunity. It was a real joy to see the GAP trailer rolling off the parking lot. Thanks to “Friends of GAP Missions” for their donations which allowed us to pay for shipping. We believe there is enough surplus to pay customs and duties when it arrives in Abidjan June 13th. A construction crew will be needed to erect the building after the container is placed on the mission property in Mondoukou Village. Getting it out of customs is always difficult. Please begin praying now for all to go well. Thank you Covenant Steel for donating this beautiful building.
Mission Team Leaving For Ivory Coast
A group of 14 people from Henry Baptist Church will accompany me June 3rd through 13th to form and pour the foundation for the orphan’s dormitory and kitchen. While the men are working on construction, the ladies will be conducting medical seminars for women in Mondoukou and Abobo (Abidjan). They will also be teaching Bible stories and organizing medical records for the orphans in Abidjan as well as doing Children’s Bible Clubs in other areas. Please pray for safety, health, and souls. David George will be preaching in the ABOBO Church and in the open air evangelistic services.
Thank You Supporters
Because of your prayers and support, souls are being reached, churches planted, orphans cared for, and national pastors are being trained in the ministry (II Tim. 2:2). May the Lord richly bless each of you for your faithfulness. Pray for God’s continued blessing as we work “hand in hand” with the Christians in Ivory Coast, West Africa. By God’s Grace we will continue to see fruit from our labor.
