This is a time when we take gifts to every orphan, where it is possible, under our care. Christians will be walking out of “bush” villages to Bangolo and Mahapleu to bring the orphans and celebrate Christmas together. Some walked as far as 38 miles last year to participate. They bring mats to sleep on and money to buy food, usually rice and sauce cooked in huge pots over an open fire. Pastor Joseph has organized the reunion and we expect hundreds to attend the four day event. We have a group of 8 going from the USA this year. Please pray as we strive to encourage Christians living under difficult physical circumstances. Pray for safety and health for all. And, pray for souls as we evangelize and preach the Wonderful Story of Christmas.
Excitement Is In The Air
We are excited and ready to go and the Ivorians are anxious for us to arrive. Christmas gifts for the orphans are in the container and ready to take up country. It is the highlight of the year in the Ivory Coast Mission. We don’t know what all the Lord has in store, but we know HE always has great things in store. I wish you could see the faces of these orphans as their name is called and they come up front to receive their gift. The adults get excited too. They can hardly wait to see what is inside the package. We look forward to the day when we can have them under our own care in the new facility being built in Mondoukou. Please continue to pray for the speedy completion of this project. The Ivorian pastors look forward to having the Bible Institute open as well where they will be better equipped for their ministry.
We are so thankful for those who helped us ship truck and trailer to Ivory Coast and get it out of port. We will be driving the truck 500 miles into the interior on this trip and using the trailer for an evangelistic platform in Abidjan. These are great tools for the ministry of Ivory Coast. We are excited and ready to go.
