“Two steps forward…and one step back.” Taking the Message of Christ into the world is like riding a horse wide open into a raging battle. No missionary in history has ever stated that their work was always smooth sailing. We read letters of victories inviting people to rejoice but, many times, letters only express the end of the story. Anything done for the “cause” of the Gospel will see strong opposition, especially in the spiritual realm.
Eph. 6:12 (Amplified Bible) “For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.”
So faithful warrior, put on your “Armor of God”, the whole armor, and pray…pray….pray… Prayer invokes Heavenly Authority and Power. Prayer sets Heaven into action. Prayer brings us in line with God’s purpose and plan. Prayer is not to command God, asking Him to give us our way. Prayer is for GOD to have His way bringing a revelation to us. Even the strongest Christian cannot expect to win a spiritual battle in the flesh. The flesh is much too weak. Only spiritual forces can counter spiritual forces. And remember too, when the dust is settled and God has revealed all HE desired to accomplish, don’t forget WHO gave the victory. Give HIM the glory. You’ll find the battle not only worked for the good of the Gospel, the battle did a work in you.
